My name is albert Goldingay I was born 1938 2nd October, inWainwright Street aston I think it was number 4. at 3 years old I then went to live with my Nan across the road at number 13/39 Wainwright Street. I lived and went to school in aston until 1947 when my Father married again. I then went to live at 384 college Road Erdington. That address was a cafe call theRidgeway cafe. This was owned by my step Mother, her married name before she married my Father was Nance Geri her maiden name was Jenkins. Her husband alfred was killed by two drunken american soldiers. They ran over him as he walked home froman RaF base in there Jeep. This change the law in the English Parliament how american soldiers would be treatedwith any criminal offence now committed in the UK. The money that was awarded 5000 pounds I understandthis bought the Ridgeway cafe. My Father was the cross country running champion in the late 1930s. I believe there was a paper called the Saturday Sports argus he was in that news paper most weekends. His name was albert Edward Goldingay. So I finally went To Hastings Road Secondary Modern School for Boys Hastings Road Erdington. Does this help you in any way with your history ? I hope it is of some Help.
